What Defuse Time records when you play, why, and what you can do about it.

What is recorded

When you play in a room, the room sends this site the result of the game: team name, score, modules defused and when, and for each player the name entered at sign-up and, if given, an e-mail address.

This site sets no third-party tracker or audience tool. Only technical cookies are used: the chosen language and, for a signed-in person, their session.

What is shown

A game sheet can only be seen by people who have its link or QR code. It shows players by first name and the initial of their surname, never by e-mail address.

Players who gave an e-mail address appear in the public leaderboard, in the same form (first name and initial) with their scores. This relies on Defuse Time's legitimate interest in offering this game service.

How long

The e-mail address of a player without an account is erased 24 months after their last game. An account inactive for 36 months is deleted, after a warning e-mail. A game's team scores are kept anonymously.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, its correction or its erasure, and object to its use. In My account (sign in with a code sent to your address), "Download my data" gives you a copy and "Delete my account" erases it: you leave the leaderboard and your games become anonymous ("Anonymous player"). For any other request, write to us through the Contact page.

News by e-mail

Players who gave their address may receive the network's news. You are offered a way to refuse in the room, and every message will carry a one-click unsubscribe link.
